It has long been an aspiration of mine to fix the layout on the page.
It's almost a year old, and though it's been improved drastically, it
looks worse to me every time I see it.  Not only that but I've encountered
numerous problems every time I add something to it when it comes to
viewing it on other computers and such.  Not only that, but I have gotten
criticism from many people about my original choice of clors and such, so
despite many tinkerings, in the end the problem remains largely
unsolvable.  Not only that but the image-heavy page was rather taxing on
both modems' connections and Evk's computer, after we moved it there.  Use
of customization only doubled the problem by requiring a .js file for
every image file, further extending the load time drastically.  And
finally, I have gotten wary about using icons and images taken directly
from video games.  I think it's because in my mind, going to various
different really shitty webpages over the years, one thing has been the
same- when I go to shitty video game pages, they almost always use images
taken from video games, like Final Fantasy VI or Chrono Trigger.  Merely
using them associates me with them, and makes the page look... I dunno,
kinda dumpy.  It was a nice thought but in the end just didn't work.  So,
I will be keeping two images I took from video games, and two only- the
Stove, and Salamando.

The new layout itself can be viewed at http://salamando.2y.net/newstove/ 
and, while I don't have all the sections up yet, you can get a general 
idea what's up, and what it'll look like.  Yes it's a lot brighter.  Yes 
it doesn't fill your entire screen.  No, that's not a bad thing, it means 
it will look the same on everyone's computer.  No, there isn't any
customization.  No, I don't know CGI.  Hey, make me, buddy!  :I  FART  ;D

Oy, well, sections will be added to it over the next week or two, and the
changes will indeed go there- but it's nothing to really hold your breath
about until we actually get all the old articles converted and launch the
new layout.

In case you've noticed the rather glaring lack of our presence on the old
layout, I think I'll blame it on the fact that I fell down a well.  Yes, I
was trapped in a well with only the corpse of my ex-roommate to feed me,
and several cases of Biccardi 151 to drink.  Evk would have saved me but
he was too busy crashing Bar Mitzvahs and getting sloshed to notice.
Eventually, though, I used the clavicle of my now-consumed roommate to dig
my way to safety.  Then I summoned a giant mech and soared into the
wilderness~ into new journies.

I think we're going to post a few more reviews on the old layout to buy us
more time.  But when the new layout is out, it will be a lot smoother
sailing, and normal production will resume.  Also comics.
